The safety and security of Canada and Canadians is the top priority for the Government of Canada.
As noted by my colleague, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the violation of Canada’s sovereign air space is unacceptable.
Canada’s security and intelligence community continuously monitors potential threats, and has robust measures in place to address them.
Public Safety Canada and its Portfolio agencies coordinate interdepartmentally and internationally to examine all available options to counter threats.
These agencies take all necessary measures to safeguard Canada’s sensitive information from foreign intelligence threats, as well as to protect Canada from hostile actors and violations to our sovereignty.
Working with key partners and allies, Canada will continue to stand for our interests and values, both at home and abroad.
