To reduce Internet child exploitation in New Brunswick, the provincial Department of Public Safety and Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) ‘J’ Division are developing and implementing an Internet Child Exploitation Prevention Initiative. The strategy is being implemented through a phased-in approach. It began in 2011 and is currently at the project approval stage. To date, resources for implementation have not been significant; the initiative has moved forward with existing human resources. Provincial ministries such as the Department of Public Safety and others who are in a position to contribute to the prevention of Internet child exploitation, together with ‘J’ Division, are engaged in this initiative. |
