Anti-Hate Initiatives
There is no place for hate-motivated crimes in Canada. All Canadians deserve to feel safe, and acts of intolerance do not reflect our Canadian values of acceptance, diversity and inclusion.
Public Safety Canada is undertaking a number of initiatives to combat hate from a national security and community safety perspective. These include leading the National Strategy on Countering Radicalization to Violence; funding programs for organizations and communities working to counter hate, violent extremism, and their harmful impacts on individuals and communities; engaging with a diverse range of citizens in an ongoing dialogue about national security issues; and, working with Public Safety portfolio partners to improve bias sensitivity and cultural competencies.
