Description: Repentigny police presence and services were being provided for free at for-profit events. This led to high police overtime costs. Since 2007, in a cost-recovery initiative, the Repentigny Police Service has charged fees for police services at for-profit events.
Objective: This initiative seeks to offer police presence and services to for-profit organizations without raising city taxes for citizens.
Outcomes: For-profit organizations have responded positively and the police overtime portion of the municipal budget has decreased.
Resources: No new resources were required to implement this initiative.
