Description of Initiative:

This is not currently an initiative that is operational. Rather, it is an initiative that has been directed to staff within the provincial Highway Safety Division for consideration.

A collision reporting centre could be established in an area of the province to provide a reporting area for persons involved in property damage collisions.

Initiative Key Objectives:

Given the resources currently required to respond and collect data, establishing a collision reporting centre would eliminate these requirements and allow time and resources to be directed to other areas.

This is an initiative that goes beyond single police agency units to a provincial government agency. Benefits would be felt across all police agencies in the province.
