Assignment of a new officer within the Service.

Pilot project (via assignment).

Key Outcomes of the Initiative:

Our officer is now known to seniors. He is a resource person both for seniors and for the Service. Several disclosures of abuse have been made since he was assigned (17 cases).

Ten cases were reported in the year preceding the start of the project.

For 2010, there were 13 criminal cases involving local seniors brought before the courts, up 30% from 2009.
