- IRCC has worked closely with its partners in the development of contingency plans to ensure that we are operationally ready for any possible scenario.
- The recent flows of irregular asylum seekers are not comparable to the peaks we saw a few years ago.
- There were about 980 irregular border crossers across Canada in February 2020; the majority of which arrived in Quebec.
- Prior to the new measures that were introduced at the border, we were experiencing an average of about 50 irregular asylum claimants daily during March. For 2020, Haiti is the top source country for irregular asylum claims across Canada.

As of March 19, 2020, there has been 3,007 RCMP intercepts across Canada; of these, 99% (or 2,967) intercepts in Quebec; with an average of 50 claims made daily.
