Business Continuity Planning for Public Safety
Classification: Unclassified
Corporate Management Branch / Public Safety Canada
Proposed Response:
- Public Safety (PS) has a comprehensive Business Continuity Program (BCP) with a full plan in place since 2017. The PS BCP identifies 26 critical services as defined by TBS and provides relocation plans, contact information, process maps as well as information on critical data and dependencies. A revised list of critical services was approved in the Fall of 2019 and critical positions and employees identified in support of all critical services.
- At this time, all BCP requirements to sustain critical operations are being met. Additionally, all critical services, critical employees and contact information has been consolidated. Also, telework arrangements have allowed for other programs and services to be maintained above the current critical services list. These priorities are reviewed regularly to confirm capabilities and review deliverables.
