Strengthening Canada's Policing Advantage
Public Safety Canada hosted the 2013 Summit on the Economics of Policing: Strengthening Canada's Policing Advantage on January 16 and 17, 2013, in Ottawa, Canada.
The objectives of the Summit were to increase awareness of the challenges and opportunities facing policing, provide practical information on improving efficiency and effectiveness, and strengthen the foundation for innovation and reform in Canadian policing.
The Summit agenda was oriented around the following three areas:

- efficiencies within the justice system.
The Summit was attended by approximately 250 people from across Canada and abroad, including Ministers, government officials, police leaders, frontline police officers, representatives of policing associations, academics, and other stakeholders.
