Purpose : |
The aim of Knowledge is Power is to prevent children and youth from committing acts of bullying and other destructive behaviour in East Preston. The project will contribute to this goal by mobilizing the sponsor, community children and youth, as well as parents, Bell Park Academic Centre, Reverend Edward Simmons and the RCMP in an effort to decrease the factors which often lead children and youth to show anti-social behaviour. This will be achieved through the development and facilitation of educational workshops on relevant topics such as anger management and conflict resolution, problem-solving and decision-making. It is hoped that through the implementation of such important workshops, community children and youth will make more educated choices and apply more peaceful methods of dealing with difficult issues. In kind funding from the aforementioned sources will complement funding from the CPAF. |
