Purpose : |
The aim of this project is to further reduce the personal and community risks associated with conflict with the law, addictions, mental challenges, school turmoil, dysfunctional relationships, and other anti-social behaviours by 8-18 year olds in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality. The project will contribute to this goal by mobilizing agencies and community stakeholders in an effort to instil a greater sense of community responsibility and pride. This project intends to have a direct impact on at least 20 young offenders and 40 additional socially challenged youth. These objectives will be achieved through the introduction of one on one tutoring and mentoring sessions for youth who have experienced previous brushes with the law. In kind support from an extremely comprehensive list of community stakeholders listed on the next page of this will complement funding from the CPAF. |
