The Sherbrooke municipal housing office project Agir pour mieux grandir! is based on the promising program Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada and is designed for young people between the ages of 6 and 17 with behavioural disorders. Boys & Girls Clubs are safe places where children and youth can participate in quality programs and services that promote their healthy growth and development. They provide services in four main areas: (1) learning and career development; (2) physical activity, health and safety; (3) leadership, growth and empowerment; and (4) community services. The project is proposing to add a fifth component on mentoring. A range of activities that address the needs of the children and teenagers will be proposed. |
