The Kahkewistahaw Community Cadet Corps project will target a total of 50 male and female Aboriginal youth aged 12-18 over three years. The project will provide a positive alternative to gang involvement, substance abuse and other delinquent behaviours by encouraging the development of positive lifestyle habits through structured activities. The Kahkewistahaw Community Cadet Corps will involve drill and marching activities, and will be enhanced by the addition of components shown to be linked to the prevention and reduction of delinquent behaviour. |
