This is Phase 1 of a three-year plan to design, demonstrate and evaluate the New Brunswick Domestic Violence Court model. Phase 1 will carry out
preliminary developmental activity related to the model; specifically, it will (1) organize consultation sessions with all stakeholders in order to assess the current capacity of the justice system to respond to cases involving domestic violence, receive input from stakeholders, and to secure stakeholder commitment to the project; (2) develop and deliver an overall training / risk assessment strategy which will be custom-made to the needs of
stakeholders and other partners; (3) deliver this training; and (4) design an evaluation framework which will be used to assess the Domestic Violence
Court model during the demonstration phase of the initiative.
