All participants will take part in both Outreach and Support, and Activities components simultaneously throughout the program. For the Outreach and Support Component an Outreach/Support Worker will be hired to directly identify and recruit youth between the ages of 16 and 24 deemed to be gang involved or at risk of gang involvement and assist them with linking to the social support services that address their particular needs.
The support components will be specially tailored to assist each youth in developing self-knowledge, empathy and self-confidence as well as interpersonal, social, and daily living skills that will enhance their abilities to resist gang involvement or re-engagement.
