| Purpose : |
This project is to provide Homalco youth with the cultural values and identity to decrease, and ultimately eliminate, the high levels of crime and substance abuse within the Aboriginal youth population. The presence of crime within the community is not caused by a single issue, but is rather the result of a complex number of factors. With the guidance of community elders, youth will learn the Xwemalhkwa language and engage in canoe quests, story telling, carving activities and a community garden. |
