This project will advance crime prevention in Atlantic Canada and facilitate a transition to more evidence based, results focused action. The project will engage crime prevention practitioners, community organizations, police, corrections and other professional service providers throughout the region in adopting best practices for addressing the issues of youth gangs, drug abuse and violent crime.
The key to this engagement will be a regional conference on the theme of Evidence + Action = Outcomes: What works in combating gangs, drug abuse and violent crime. The engagement would continue through to completion and beyond of this project.
