Purpose : |
Twenty five candidates from the four participating communities will be trained in conflict resolution that is culturally relevant to the four
Mi'gmaq First Nations. As well, eight candidates from the four participating communities will be trained as trainers for the process. An interim evaluation of the Apigsigtoagen project will be conducted to assess the effectiveness of this approach and to determine its viability for other Aboriginal communities. A report of the findings
will be produced.
A training manual of the Apigsigtoagen project will be developed forother members of the four communities. The training manual will be based on the experience, programs, input and curriculum used
during the training program, which has incorporated the principles of Apigsigtoagen and Mi'gmaq traditionalism combined with the
philosophy, ideals and training elements of an alternative dispute resolution process.
