Purpose : |
The Saskatoon Gang Strategy - Development of Community Resources will increase integrated case planning through community-based services; increase information flow between criminal justice services and child and family supports and Aboriginal services; increase public awareness of crime prevention approaches to increase community safety and conduct a rigorous evaluation to show evidence of the process, effectiveness and outcome of the strategy.
The three-year strategy will utilize a blended approach of enforcement, law reform and policy development, and prevention and social development focused on risk factors identified in the earlier research and reports, including the Saskatchewan Criminal Intelligence Report 2005. The collaboration of criminal intelligence services, human services, community agencies and municipal services to reduce re-offending, increase successful reintegration and prevent victimization and criminal activity demonstrates the effectiveness of a comprehensive, targeted and evidence based community safety strategy. It will mobilize a federal, provincial, municipal, voluntary sector and Aboriginal community partnership to coordinate, implement and evaluate the outcomes over the three years.
