Purpose : |
This project focuses on sharing crime prevention knowledge. Tools, resources and best practices will be shared nationally and internationally. This requires not only consultation with international technical experts, but also the participation of researchers, professionals and the Programme Network Institutes, as well as the support of Canadian and international governments.
There are a number of ways these tools and resources will be shared under this agreement: electronic versions of reports will be available on the ICPC Web site, and the reports will be distributed at various meetings and gatherings scheduled in 2009 and 2010. In addition, presentations at the 9th annual symposium in December 2009 will focus specifically on the developments in crime prevention practices and policies over the past 15 years. The documents and information gathered during the symposium will also be made available on the ICPC Web site.
These methods of sharing knowledge will help ICPC enhance its international role. This is an approach that will contribute to sharing information and promote effective crime prevention strategies among countries, cities and various stakeholders.
