This project will focus on domestic and family violence within the DOTC communities with the goal of identifying a shelter that effectively meets the needs of community members. The project will examine the impacts of violence and victimization and plan/develop effective culturally appropriate resources within the DOTC communities; educate and crate awareness around violence against women and children and its impacts on the family; intervene and promote healthy choices for healthy lifestyles and relationships; propose and implement a First Nations shelter and resource centre.
