Vote 1 – Operating Expenditures
- The total Operating Expenditures funding sought in Main Estimates for 2022-23 is $201.1 million. This represents a $19.9 million increase or 11% over the previous year.
- This increase is primarily attributable to the following major increases:
- $6.1 million in re-profiled funding for the accommodations refit and relocation of the Government Operations Centre;
- $6.0 million in new funding for the First Nations and Inuit Policing Program;
- $4.8 million in new funding for the Anti-Money Laundering Action, Coordination and Enforcement Team;
- $3.8 million in new funding for the expansion of the Aboriginal Community Safety Planning Initiative;
- $3.6 million in new funding to enhance Canada’s firearm control framework; and
- $2.0 million in new funding to establish the Building Safer Communities Fund.
- These increases are mainly offset by the following decreases:
- $2.6 million for the expiry of the funding to support Canada’s Flood Risk Plan;
- $2.0 million for the expiry of the funding National Strategy for Protecting Children from Sexual Exploitation Online; and
- $2.0 million for the expiry of the funding for the Advertising Initiatives for the Emergency Preparedness (natural disasters) campaign.
