This report details a follow-up survey conducted in December 2009 that focused entirely on how the economic recession was affecting police department budgets and on whether local police were noticing increased in crime or changes in crime patterns that they believed could be attributed to the economy: 63% of respondents said they were preparing plans for an overall cut in their total funding for the next fiscal year.
