Summary

"The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police’s (OACP) Diversity Committee is pleased to provide Best Practices in Policing and LGBTQ Communities in Ontario as a resource document for police services across the Province of Ontario. This resource for Ontario police services is a living document and will be updated with new information over time. This is the first document of its kind published in Canada, and the OACP Diversity Committee hopes that it will serve as a model for other jurisdictions in Canada and abroad. Best Practices in Policing and LGBTQ Communities in Ontario will assist police services to proactively develop inclusive workplaces for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) police personnel and to develop and maintain relationships with members of LGBTQ communities."--Page 2.
