Summary

"This paper provides a commentary around new survey research (Bradford et al 2013 and Bradford and Quinton 2014) that shows fairness and respect, internally within police organisations, can have a similar effect on the attitudes and behaviour of the workforce. Fairness at a supervisory and senior leadership level was associated with officers ‘going the extra mile’ without personal gain, following work rules, valuing the public, feeling empowered, and supporting ethical policing."--Page 2.
