Summary

"The last few years have seen tremendous growth in the law enforcement deployment of smartphones. The availability of high performance hardware and law enforcement relevant commercial off-the-shelf apps has driven significant interest in how this technology can be optimized for law enforcement use. This project had two goals. First, identify the mobile data needs of law enforcement officers and build custom apps to deliver, and capture, relevant information. Second, evaluate the effectiveness of smartphone and custom app deployment using rigorous experimental methodology."--Executive Summary.
