Summary

A national network of university-based teams conduct investigations of real-world collisions in support of the Road Safety and Motor Vehicle Regulation Directorate's safety programmes. The work required of these teams has been redefined to create a programme of directed studies which are focused on specific safety issues. The conduct of these studies is discussed in the light of Transport Canada's policies, and potential changes to the motor vehicle safety standards.
