Summary

The primary focus of this study was to determine the key factors associated with the reduction in burglary rates in the Australian Capital Territory during 2001; and to provide a profile of recidivist property offenders in the ACT. Two primary sources of data — aggregated burglary rates and criminal histories for those persons arrested for a property offence during the first half of 2001 — were analysed.
