Purpose : |
The Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General’s Victim Services and Crime Prevention Division (the Division) will deliver an innovative model of community engagement and culturally-relevant, evidence-based crime prevention practices using capacity building as a means to explore ways to develop and implement culturally-sensitive crime prevention practices among Aboriginal populations. It is expected that this project will increase the capacity of three selected communities to respond to crime issues and ultimately reduce crime.
It is expected that, through its culturally sensitive service delivery model, this project will inform our knowledge of effective crime prevention practices in Aboriginal communities, particularly the means by which Aboriginal communities can be engaged effectively in crime prevention.
