The project targets the most at risk youth in the community and will develop and implement a formal mentorship program. Mentors will link youth to agencies, support services and other supports as needed. In addition a summer life skills training program for youth will take place with the support of West Region Child and Family Services Vision Seekers Initiative. In this program youth will improve problem solving skills and related life skills and will increase knowledge of crime and victimization prevention. Partnering with outside partners will provide a web of community support for the at-risk youth. An evaluation of the project impact will be conducted. |
