Purpose : |
SNAP® is a Canadian-based, internationally recognized community-based program for children who have come into contact or are at risk of coming into contact with the police, and display early signs of anti-social or aggressive behaviour. SNAP® is a cognitive-behavioural strategy that helps children and their parents regulate angry, impulsive, and/or aggressive behaviours and feelings by getting them to stop, think, and plan positive alternatives before they act impulsively.
This project will target approximately 112 Aboriginal youth ages 6-12, who are at-risk of criminal behaviour. Approximately 40 parents and 100 siblings will be engaged in family components of the program.
