Purpose : |
Youth from the project, approximately 150, will meet weekly throughout the school year, and participate in an arts camp in the summer. Youth will be encouraged to participate in employment training, conflict resolution training and arts based programming to assist them in promoting positive behaviours, volunteerism and being connected to their community. Under the guidance and influence of adults and other adult and youth mentors, the participants will be provided with an opportunity to take an active role in improving their community to make them better places in which to live and grow.
The purpose of the project is to provide a youth centered environment that will provide them with opportunities to encourage their personal growth and support them emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually; while working with community partners to create strong and healthy neighbourhood resistant to crime.
