The Positive Alternative to Youth Gangs project will reduce the presence of gang related activity in affected areas and support high risk youth while enhancing community initiatives that promote pro-societal behaviours. This project will focus on providing support to students from grades 6-8 in two middle schools in the Jane-Finch community working collaboratively with parents, and surrounding community organizations to provide intervention strategies for youth. It is expected that this project will reach approximately 75 youth per year aged 11-14 in the Jane-Finch Community of Toronto that are in conflict with the law and/or at significant risk of engaging in gang activity. |
