Purpose : |
The project will focus on promising and model crime prevention programs and the tools needed to implement them in order to reduce crime involving high-risk youth, Aboriginal communities and
chronic / prolific offenders. The project’s target group will consist of approximately 300 participants, including policing and crime prevention professionals from federal, provincial and municipal government departments and agencies; service providers from Aboriginal communities; community social service professionals and volunteers; researchers, academics and educators; policy makers; and private sector stakeholders.
The proposed project is needed in order to better equip crime prevention / reduction professionals with the latest and best knowledge available on model and promising programs and approaches, and to coordinate these professionals in order to more effectively apply this knowledge through practical service delivery complementing the New Brunswick government’s Crime Reduction Strategy.
