Phase 2 of the NECRC's Comprehensive Safety initiative project continues to take a holistic approach to the safety concerns of the Lord Selkirk Park and Dufferin neighbourhoods in concert with the newly created Aboriginal Vision Strategy. Phase 2 will put into action the learnings from the first year. The project's scope will include holistic approaches to enhancing community capacity with regards to housing, health, education and employment, community economic development, and culture and recreation. The CCI approach links the Lord Selkirk Park Housing development to its neighbours and to the neighbourhood of Dufferin. By building on existing partnerships and fostering ownership and positive change within the community through the coordination of services, there is a foundation and readiness to work towards Phase 2 activities.
