The purpose of the project is to improve safety on the water and increase survivability in the event of an incident. It will do this by developing a free, easily downloadable and offline smartphone app, that will include prevention and safety information such as: a boating safety checklist; proper boat operation; marine weather resources; emergency procedures; and navigation and buoy visual references.
