This project will organise four networking events at the World Urban Forum III in order to create and disseminate knowledge on building sustainable
partnerships between community-based women's organisations and municipalities (and other community partners) from Canada and other countries to improve the safety of women and girls. The project will bring together international representatives of women's organisations and municipal governments (and other partners) and allow the participation of 8 Canadian women, to discuss issues related to building sustainable partnerships in order to develop a body of knowledge about processes, mechanism, structures and resources needed to create successful local partnerships. These partnerships will be united in the purpose of preventing all forms of violence and abuse, including racist and ethnic violence, and at building communities that are safe for women and girls.
