The purpose of the project "Community Mobilization Empowering Seniors Against Victimization" is to: gather further information on the barriers seniors face in reporting elder abuse; gain further understanding of seniors' perceptions of police; better understand the relationship between seniors, police and seniors' service providers how these players can work together to empower seniors to report elder abuse. All information collected through this project will be compiled and shared with community stakeholders so that it may be used by individuals and organizations working in the field of elder abuse, and it will also be used to form the development of future training and education materials related to elder abuse.
