Purpose : |
This project is sponsored by the Centre jeunesse de la Montérégie, which developed it from a survey of leading-edge practices. The goal is to provide specialized services to young clients with a problem of delinquency.
The first step is a careful, differential-approach-based assessment of the young person to determine his or her delinquent typology, along with an assessment of the family by means of systemic analysis. The assessment is also designed to identify the combination of factors underlying the delinquent behaviours of each young person and thereby determine the best action to take in light of specific individual, parental and family objectives. The second step involves a set of strategies to guide the selection of objectives and methods of intervention for each type of delinquent in light of the client's treatment environment (residential or day program). |
