Purpose : |
In 1998-99, the Direction des services de réadaptation à l'enfance et aux adolescentes [Child and adolescent rehabilitation services directorate] of the Centre jeunesse de Montréal - Institut universitaire (DSREA-CJM-IU) decided to renew its practices in intervening with adolescents by referring them to a cognitive-behavioural program. The program was gradually introduced in eight residential units (on two sites), each of which houses a dozen clients. Over the course of a year, the program is delivered to about 125 adolescents. The program was given priority because of the conclusive results achieved in preventing clients from reoffending. |
