This project will focus on engaging parents, youth and the community in the prevention of violence and bullying, drug and alcohol abuse. The project will address the risk factors related to violence, bullying, and drug and alcohol abuse as well as negative attitudes and low self-esteem. OYI will develop and implement a number of initiatives for children and youth to provide them with healthy, positive activities and minimize the likelihood of loitering and minimize their risk of engaging in criminal activities. In addition, awareness of and education about drugs, drug use and violence and solutions will be shared with parent, adults and the community in general. In the majority of cases, activities will have been developed and implemented by the Youth Advisory Council, for their peers.
