Summary

"Georgian College’s Research Analyst Program, working in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association, Barrie-Simcoe Branch, conducted a survey of front line police officers in February 2004 to document their experience and perspective regarding mental health interventions. It was hoped that increased understanding of the front line perspective would lead to the development of more effective working partnerships between the police and mental health providers, thereby improving outcomes for persons whose mental illness brings them into contact with the law."--Page 3.
