Summary

"This study will provide Halifax Regional Police with the information it needs to make effective performance management and strategic planning decisions in the future. This study will have two primary components. The first will be a high level jurisdictional scan and literature review. This will provide an extensive review of existing literature on performance management systems as they are applied to police, both in Canada and abroad. The concept of performance management will be outlined, unique challenges faced by police forces will be explained, and existing domestic and international best practices will be identified."--Page [2].
