The movement of people and goods between Canada and the United States, together with the organizations and processes that facilitate this border traffic, collectively represent an integral part of our cross-border critical infrastructure.

Building on a longstanding tradition of emergency management and national security cooperation, Canada and the United States have undertaken initiatives to promote a more integrated approach to critical infrastructure resilience, including the movement of people and goods across the border during and following an emergency.
