The Cyber Security Cooperation Program (CSCP) is a grants and contributions program that will support projects intended to improve the security of Canada’s vital cyber systems outside the federal Government by increasing access to and the availabilities of assessment tools and methodologies, best practices and guidance documents. In addition, the CSCP will support research and other related activities that contribute to improving the resiliency of these systems.
In accordance with the three streams of the Program, t he CSCP provides funding to:
- Develop, adapt or otherwise increase the availability and access of cyber security assessment tools and methodologies for owners and operators of vital cyber systems, including critical infrastructure;
- Explore existing standards and best practices and develop best practices for critical infrastructure sectors that represent vital cyber systems; and,
- Support research and related activities that contribute to improving the resiliency of vital cyber systems outside the federal Government.
- Such activities range in scope and may include specific initiatives such as how to develop a cyber-savvy workforce in Canada, or how to best keep pace with emerging technologies. Alternatively, activities may include hosting workshops or conferences to bring more attention to specific cyber security issues, or designing private sector-specific awareness initiatives to facilitate the dissemination of relevant cyber security information.
